La paz imperpetua

Tratar de definir la paz pretendiendoevadir su unívoco significado, para rendirle culto al neologismo, equivaldría a negarle su función en el desenvolvimiento moral de la humanidad, y reducirla a una prudente transacción entre desavenencias o beligerancias varias. Su implantación y su defensa en la sociedad es siempre obra de una especie de heroísmo ético y requiere una inagotable energía espiritual y una actitud de incondicional protección. ¿Deberá ser regulada y definida en un canon constitucional como en nuestro sistema jurídico o es un valor supremo, suprapositivo, que posibilita la resolución concertada de los conflictos?, o por el contrario, la paz es aquella consecuencia de la contienda que nutre su cuerpo con los derechos del venced... Its implantation and defense in society is always the doing of a kind of ethical heroism and requires an inexhaustible spiritual energy and an attitude of unconditional protection. It would have to be regulated and defined in a constitutional canon as well as in our legal system, or is it a supreme and supra-positive value, that facilitates an arranged resolution of the conflicts? Or on the other hand, is this peace a consequence of the fight that nourishes its corpus with the rights of the conquering side, the kind of peace that bothers F. Bacon, peace recharged with the cruel and barbarian admonition victis".
