Archivos, colecciones y arquitectura: las bibliotecas
El artículo trata de manera somera la relación que existe entre los archivos, las colecciones y la arquitectura como el lugar que puede contenerlos. Se estudia específicamente el tema de la arquitectura de las bibliotecas, cuyo inicio puede encontrarse en Europa y en la América colonial en el interior de los edificios conventuales o monásticos. Es al final del siglo XVIII cuando emerge la concepción moderna del edificio-biblioteca como una entidad autónoma, la que se desarrolla ampliamente en los siglos posteriores. Se presta especial atención a algunos edificios representativos de la arquitectura de las bibliotecas construidos en Colombia en el siglo XX e inicios del XXI y se incluyen unos ejemplos, también representativos, de bibliotecas...
