Una introducción a la toma de decisiones colectivas
El objetivo de este artículo es presentar de manera sucinta la Teoría de la elección social y algunas de sus implicaciones. Kenneth Arrow, su fundador, no cree en la distinción empobrecedora entre economía y ética, hace explícita la reflexión filosófica sobre la intersección entre ética, política y economía. Primeramente, se abordan algunas cuestiones de la agregación de preferencias individuales en una función de bienestar social; el siguiente apartado analiza la distinción entre valores individuales y colectivos que juegan un papel central en el proceso de elección. Después tratamos el problema de la acción colectiva y los límites de los sistemas de votación; y finalmente se enuncian algunas conclusiones generales.

Kenneth Arrow, its founder, does not believe in the impoverishing distinction between economics and ethics.
