El concepto religioso de refugiado: Los “santuarios”, la tradición y la fe
En América del Norte, en la década de 1980, surgió el movimiento del “santuario” como un medio para la prestación de apoyo, promoción y protección de los refugiados y otros migrantes vulnerables. En los últimos  años, estos movimientos han crecido rápidamente por toda Europa, animados en gran medida por los  activistas de la fe que invocan una serie de principios morales básicos relacionados con las tradiciones  religiosas. Los activistas contemporáneos del “santuario”, se asocian con tradiciones religiosas antiguas  basadas en la protección y fundadas en la empatía y la solidaridad, que son de hecho parte integral de todas  las formas de organización social.
